Recipe: Lemon Turmeric Tonic

This NB offers an easy, fast recipe that’s soothing, tasty and offers fantastic anti-inflammatory properties.

This recipe’s going to be an amazing choice for those who want to kick up their digestion a notch and combat low-grade inflammation in their intestines! 

The curcumin in turmeric can reduce the body’s inflammatory response, reducing inflammatory cytokines. 

Not only that, but curcumin may also be effective at reducing the pain caused by inflammation in the joints (the result of MS and rheumatoid arthritis). 

Plus, with lemon as the base of the drink, you know you’re getting a hefty dose of Vitamin C—another inflammation-fighting antioxidant and immunity booster!

Lemon Turmeric Tonic


  • 4 lemons
  • 2 TBSP turmeric
  • 1-1.5 TBSP maple syrup
  • ½ TSP cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups water


1. Squeeze out the juice of four lemons. (Yes, fresh is best!) 
2. Add the lemon juice to your water.
3. Stir in the turmeric, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. 

Now, you can drink it like this, at room temperature or you can put it over ice (or blend it). 

You can even have it hot, if you use hot water or heat it up. 

This tonic can do wonders to reduce inflammation and improve digestion drastically!
